Track Aaron live ↓Gun goes off Friday, October 9 at 6:00am in Moab (Mountain Time). Aaron's got a SPOT tracker strapped to his pack the whole way, so you can watch him suffer in real time on the official race tracker.
Until then it's still showing last year's race. Huge chunks of the course have zero signal, so if the dot freezes or teleports, don't panic. That's just the desert.
One giant fucking loop out of Moab. Desert canyons and slickrock for the first 100 miles, then up and over two mountain ranges (the Abajos and the La Sals), then back down into town on legs that no longer work. Hover or tap the profile to follow the route.
Aaron's aiming for about 85 hours, finishing Monday evening. Times are his targets, weather is the forecast for when he rolls in. Cutoffs are the race's, and they don't give a shit about excuses. Tap a stop for the details.
Targets are a plan, not a promise. If he's 3+ hours down at Bridger Jack, plan B kicks in (~106 hours, Tuesday afternoon finish). The game's the game. Crew can only meet him at crew stops. Meet him anywhere else and he gets DQ'd, so don't be a muppet.
This course has hit 95°F and 7°F, sometimes in the same fucking day. Here's what's coming Friday to Tuesday, down in the desert and up in the mountains.

High / low °F · chance of precipitation · max wind. Mountain forecasts above 10,000 ft are a guess at best. Pack the puffy.

Ultra runner, self-coached lab rat, spin bike enthusiast. Ran 48 loops at his first backyard ultra (roughly 320 km in 48 hours) and hallucinated cats and dogs on night two. Now he's running 243.5 miles across Utah, because apparently that's what fun looks like.
